New Autism Resource Center Opens in Overland Park to Provide Pre-Vocational Job Training for Adults with ASD
Overland Park, KS — July 7, 2025 — The Autism Resource Center of Kansas City (ARCKC) has officially opened its doors to provide pre-vocational training for adults 18 years of age and older with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Located at 8550 Marshall Drive, Suite 105 in Overland Park, ARCKC is now enrolling participants for its Summer Session.
ARCKC was founded to empower adults with ASD to achieve greater independence and lead fulfilling lives. Through individualized programming emphasizing pre-vocational training, social skills, and health/wellness, the organization supports individuals in building the confidence and skills needed for successful employment and a future of fulfillment.
The Autism Resource Center began operation on July 1st, 2025 and will host an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 10, to celebrate its opening.
“As a parent of an adult with autism, I know how overwhelming the transition to adulthood feels for families. ARCKC was built to ease that journey and provide the tools necessary for greater independence.” said Jay Cross, Founder. “We want families, guardians, and caregivers to know that they are not alone and that we provide a viable option into adulthood.”
ARCKC’s mission focuses on three core areas of development:
Pre-Vocational Training – preparing individuals for meaningful employment through hands-on learning, workplace simulations, and personalized support that builds readiness for real-world jobs
Social Skills – fostering relationships, strengthening communication skills, and encouraging peer interaction
Health & Wellness – empowering participants to make healthy lifestyle choices, both physical and emotional
Programs are offered in half-day or full-day sessions, with each participant supported by a plan informed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists and tailored to their individual strengths and goals.
ARCKC would like to extend an invitation for media to join the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, July 10, at 12:30pm. Additionally, they welcome the opportunity to schedule interviews or media coverage to help spread the word about their mission and enrollment opportunities.
